Congratulations !!!

You are fortunate that you can read English. More than 40 crore Indians cant read any Language.

You are fortunate that you have a laptop and internet connection, more than 50 crore Indians do not have access to electricity even.

So, I congratulated you in the beginning. You are special.

There are two parts of a society. One which thrives and another which survives. Adding to it, there are two responsibilities for both, Consume and Contribute and for every society to be recognized as civilized one, there should be a balance between the two.

Now, here comes my point of discussion "disturbing the balance". When one part of society starts consuming more other has to consume less and similarly when one part of society starts contributing less, another has to contribute more and this will balance the equation harmoniously only when the part of society which is consuming more is contributing more. Although in ideal state, everybody should consume and contribute equally. But humanity rarely managed to balance the equation since the birth of civilizations. More the civilizations grew, more the equation got disturbed.

So, which part of the society are we. Definitely we consume and contribute.

There is noting to think much about this. We are a part of society which is consuming more and contributing ........

Let me leave this unanswered. I will take it later and also below is a survey which will try to answer this.

I will tell you some nice examples about "Balancing the equation".

1. Narayan Murthy, founder Infosys, once said that we are a big company today because of society only and its our moral responsibility to give back to society.

2. Bill gates, founder Microsoft, once said that any individual or company grows in a society because they consume something from society. When you grow, you consume resources which would have been consumed by some one else and that leads to change in the equation.

3. Warren Buffet very recently announced that he will "contribute" 90% of his wealth for public cause. He has already donated 50% of his total wealth.

So what these things prove. Phenomenally successful people do believe that they consumed more than others did and so its their moral responsibility to contribute more. In simple language, they should "balance the equation".

Coming back to us. If we look around our country and see our people. If we visit any slum in metros like Delhi or Mumbai or if we go to any government run school or hospital in Patna or Meerut, if we visit any village in Andhra Pradesh or Chhatishgarh we will realize that we consume more. But that is what I already said. When we visit all these places, we can realize one more thing, we can contribute more. Yes. We can "balance the equation".

And if you feel that you are really fortunate to be in "better" part of society, you consume more and you want to contribute more, Go ahead.
